After Effects 2023 rendering in Unsupported Format

I've tried everything I can think of to fix this problem, including installing new video players. No matter what I do, my AE files will now no longer render in a supported format. I'm used to rendering in H.264 from the previous AE, but now that won't work. I've checked my previous renders from older AE versions and they're still running fine, so it has to be something with AE 2023. I'm running on a WIndows computer and have no idea how I'm supposed to do anything on AE with this problem. Anyone know the fix?

There is a bug where renders will go bust if the output file name or a folder contains special characters/ non-English characters, which under some conditions could be even your user name. Similarly, there's another bug on Macs, where files simply become unusable when they are rendered to the desktop. So the obvious fixed are to not render to the desktop and a dedicated folder on the root volume and not use crazy file names. Other than that of course the usual things apply - updating graphics drivers, checking hardware acceleration, clearing caches, turning off multiframe rendering.

It's not that it won't render, it's that when it renders, it's unplayable. Somehow it renders in an unsupported format no matter the settings. I've checked all drivers and all of those things.
