Question

After Effects 2024 keeps crashing on splash art screen ( caused by Photoshop 2026? )

Okie dokie artichokie here we go,

I have been using after effects 2024 and photoshop 2026 in the same workspace for 2 months without any issues, today my after effects started to crash every time on the splash art screen, no warning, or error code, anything. when I uninstalled photoshop 2026 , restarted my computer, and launched after effects, it launched just fine, with no crash or anything. when i reuninstalled photoshop, the same problem came back. i tried removing my plugins (didnt work), clearing cache (didnt work), reinstalling after effects 2024 and photoshop 2026 (didnt work), reset preferences and started in safe mode (didnt work), updating drivers (didnt work), and running as administrator and changing the launch settings to high performance (didnt work). Its strange because I've used these two in my workspace and everything worked fine until today, its really frustrating me right now and I've done literally everything and I need to use photoshop, (especially 2026 for the ai tools), heres a video of what it looks like, i havent tried downgrading or upgrading after effects because i like the 2024 ui alot better and dont want to reinstall plugins and i like the ai tools on 2026 photoshop

Hi, this sounds similar to the startup issue discussed in this thread, which includes workaround details.

The suggested workaround there is to temporarily move Camera Raw.8bi out of the File Formats folder rather than delete microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll. This may prevent importing Camera Raw files while the plug-in is moved.

    Thanks,
    Nishu
