After effects 2024 .old file, doesnt show recent files, cant open most recent project file.

Question

After effects 2024Windows 11I was just opening After effects and all of a sudden it pops up a window saying something about project files error, and then somewhere in the text it said .old or something. It then closed and I reopened it and all of a sudden, my preferences reset to default, the color UI is back to normal, my shortcuts are gone, and my recent project file is broken, "cannot read."

Hi @MockXXI,Sorry to hear you've encountered this issue, thank you for reporting it. This error generally means some corruption was found in your preferences, so they were renamed to have ".old" at the end and new preferences were created in their place.
