After Effects 2026 — How can I make the Camera Focus Distance indicator appear WHITE?

In an After Effects 2025 tutorial, the Camera Frustum/Wireframe is magenta, but the Focus Distance indicator line is clearly WHITE.

In my After Effects 2026 installation, both the camera frustum and the Focus Distance indicator appear magenta.

I am using Classic 3D and Depth of Field is enabled.

Is there a preference, View Option, Layer Control setting, or any other setting that controls the Focus Distance indicator color?

I don't want to change the Camera's Label Color because that changes the entire camera wireframe/control color.

I specifically want to distinguish the Focus Distance indicator from the camera frustum.

Screenshots attached:

  1. After Effects 2025 tutorial — white Focus Distance line + magenta camera frustum.
  2. My After Effects 2026 — both appear magenta.

Was this behavior changed in After Effects 2026, or is there a hidden setting/preferences option?

Hi, I looked into this and I don't believe there's ever been a separate color for the Focus Distance indicator. It's tied to the camera's Label Color, and I'm not aware of any changes to that area recently.

What I think is happening in the tutorial screenshot: the white line you're seeing isn't actually white. It's just a lighter shade of the same label color. I was able to replicate similar lighter appearances on my end just by experimenting with different Label Colors on the camera.

I've attached a screenshot from my After Effects with a different lable color and the color of the Focus distance indicator seems lighter.

Let me know if that helps. Moving this thread from Bugs to Questions. Feel free to create a feature request if you'd like.
