After Effects 22 can't open project file (18.4.1) error (Bad format or not readable) file?

Hello,

I need some help I am trying to open an AE Project file from 18.4.1 in AE 22 and I keep getting the error (Bad format or not readable). I have tried opening the file by dragging it on the icon in the finder. I have tried importing the file and opening the project file thru the File>Open Project and I keep getting the same error. I was able to open the project fine with AE 18.4.1 on another machine. I am getting the same error with multiple project files from the same job. Anyone having this issue?

Running AE 22.0.1 on MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021)

Chip: Apple M1 Max

Total Number of Cores: 10 (8 performance and 2 efficiency) Memory: 64 GB

MacOS 12.0.1

Running AE 18.4.1

MacPro 6 core Intel xenon E5

Memory 64 GB

Mac OS 11.6

I am not sure about the specific cause. It may be compatibility. Would you try to open the project file by AE v21.x and save the project file? Then, you try to open it by AE v22?
