After Effects 24.0.2 cannot open any of my last week work

Hi,

I just spent the entire day trying to find a solution to After Effects crashing on my computer each time I try to open the projects of last week.

The Adobe technician remotely accessed my computer and spent at least an hour trying everything, left me with no solution. I simply cannot work on my main computer so I'm loosing money right now...

AE 24.0.4

Win 11 64Bits 23H2 (up to date)

RTX 3080 (up to date with studio drivers)

64Gb RAM

i9 13900KF 3Ghz

Uninstalled / reinstalled several times, all plugins deleted, CCloud cleared and reinstalled, all up to date.

After Effects crashes on projects opening. For one project it always crashes at 4%, on another one 9%.

The dump log didn't seem to interest the Adobe Technician.

No solution at the time.

The tech told me it could be due to a problem with my user settings. He tried to run the command prompt "net administrator active:yes" on my session, without success, I don't even understand why he tried this.

It seems that an old version of Cinema 4D 2023 was causing all the troubles (Cineware update??)...

Since I've uninstalled the 2023 version and updated to the latest 2024, I can reopen all my projects.

However I get a warning "Cinema 4D 2023 should be installed in order to use the Cinema 4D Render". Not sure how to link AfterFX to my newest version of C4D ?

The solution was in the DMP file. Just open it with WinDBG and see what was the exception.

AE 24.1 when it releases (in a month or so) will have support for C4D 2024. C4D 2023 should be working with AE 23.2 to AE 24.0, so you may be able to reinstall 2023 if you need C4D support and see if that works with a fresh install.

Is the email you're entering in the crash report, the same one associated to your forums account? I don't see any new report as yet with the email from the forums.

I just came across another crash trying to import an After Effect project into my Premiere Pro project.

Both projects were made before last week.

I can edit/work and save my Premiere Pro project, without an issue.

I cannot open or import my After Effects project.

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunatly I've uninstalled Animation Composer on both AE and AP, as well as the Composer Manager and the crashes remain.

I just sent the latest report trough After Effects crash prompt.

Actually - I found a crash in our system for your email address. Can you remove Animation Composer 3 from your system and see if the problem continues?
