AFTER EFFECTS 24.6.4 crash on launch Mac Ventura

Hello, since we replaced a Mac in our bench we have the following error on launch.

<186409> <AppDirs> <5> Required Dir = /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2024/Adobe After Effects 2024.app/Contents/Required

Safe mode doesn't work either, but preferences reinitialisations allow us to successfuly launch AE, then, the error message will be back on the next launch.

We are working on Apple M2 Max, Ventura 13.7.2

We tried different AE versions, reinstallations, check plug-ins.

Thank you for your time.

Anthony

Does the folder below exist? I find some *.plugin files when I get access to the folder.

/Applications/Adobe After Effects 2024/Adobe After Effects 2024.app/Contents/Required

Hi Anthony,

Sorry to hear about the crash. Can you try the steps in the following article: https://adobe.ly/49BcKaq

Let me know how it goes. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu

Hello, thanks for your answer.

The permissions seems ok, I put all users on write/read but nothing changed. Is it the same folder for Premiere and AfterE ?

At the moment, we can use After Effects but we can't save presets or setting because we have to manualy reset preferences between each launch.

Thanks for giving it a try. Apart from a few, mostly the folders are the same for After Effects and Premiere Pro. Can you create a new Admin account in your computer and test After Effects in it? It'll help us to understand if the issue is related to the user account or not.

Thanks,
Nishu
