After Effects 25 lagging badly

Hello, I have been having trouble with AE 25 ever since it came out where the video playback is incredibly laggy, even with the simplest animation. (Video attached.) I've tried clearing my cache and about every other setting trick. I have never had this issue with any other version of AE (2024 or before). I've been using AE24 in the meantime but would really like to update to AE25 to better integrate my workflow. But this bug remains a problem and makes the program unusable.

    Sorry to hear about the issue. I haven't seen this before. Do you get the same issue if you run After Effects in Safe Mode? Can you go to After Effects Preferences > Display > disable Hardware Accelerated Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels.

    Hi Nishu, thank you for getting back to me! Neither Safe Mode or disabling that setting had any effect.

    Thanks for trying. Can you go to File > Project Settings and change the Video Renderer to Software Only? If that doesn't help, can you try changing the zoom level and preview quality and see if that does anything?
