After Effects 26.5 crashing on launch of old projects

Question

After Effects 26.5 crashes whenever I try to launch projects that contain multiple files, it continues running in the background.

I’ve tried launching in safe mode and removing preferences. Also tried deleting all plugins.

I have Mac Golden Gate 27.0.1.

Hi, sorry to hear about the crash. A few things to help narrow it down since Safe Mode and preferences reset didn't help:

1. What file types are in the projects that crash (MP4, MOV, ProRes, PSD, AI, etc.)? Does the crash happen with any specific file type, or only when multiple files combine?

2. Does the crash happen with a brand new project if you import the same files? Or only with your older project files?

3. If a crash reporter dialog appears, please include your email address before submitting — that lets us pull the exact crash log on our end.

4. What are your system specs?
