After Effects and other adobe software causes BSOD

Hi Everyone,

I've just rebuilt a brand new PC with a fresh install of windows, and all the major adobe software is causing BSOD's either at startup or shortly after starting. My specs are below:

Intel i7 7820X

Asus X299 TUF MK1

Asus Strix Geforce 1080 ti

64GB Kingston

Samsung 960 Pro M.2 SSD

These specs seem inline with other people having the same issue. Namely the CPU seems to be the common element. No amount of tinkering seems to be helping. Other software is 100% stable. I have been rendering with Cinema 4D all day long with zero issues. The issue only affects AE, Premier, and Photoshop.

All drivers and BIOS is fully up to date. This is quite frustrating as we use this computer in a production environment, and have been a loyal adobe customer for years. However I have not seen much in the form of support for myself and countless other peoples issues regarding this particular BSOD bug.

For me, the solution was to:

-uninstall "Intel Turbo Boost 3.0" app

-in BIOS, disable "Turbo Boost"

I've been having the same issues. X299 build, i9-7900x. Can't say that i can blame adobe apps for it though, i get constant BSOD's daily no matter what im using. AE, C4D, anything. I immediately thought it was a RAM issue, and have been troubleshooting that for weeks, and only today have i realised its probably Turbo Boost 3. I've disabled today, and we'll see how we go. Although i notice now AE is a lot more sluggish than it used to be . Not a good solution.

Hey,

This helps, but surely cant be the final solution? Is adobe at fault here and going to release a patch?

I agree, this hopefully is a temporary solution. Not sure if it's on Adobe's end or Intel, however an Adobe REP posted in a different thread saying that he/she would report the problem to the team. At least for now our systems are usable without overclocking, which I was happy to learn it wasn't a bad CPU or hardware issue on my build.
