After Effects CC 2017 Version 14.0.1.5 Still Crashes Constantly

Question

I am brand new to After Effects. I just downloaded the app yesterday. I am able to import items into a file and save, but anytime I try to drag a second item into the timeline, or try to adjust anything on the one thing I am able to drag there, the program crashes.

I already tried changing my audio preferences.

The image shows my System Properties (as far as I can tell, I meet system requirements to run the app):

try this:1. reset your preferences: Reset After Effects Preferences if that does not work2. disable hardware acceleration under preferences-display if you canif that does not work3. purge all memory under preferences->media & disk cacheif that does not work4. uninstall your applicationalso make sure your GPU driver is up to date.
