After Effects CC 2017 very laggy on second monitor

Hello!I just bought the Acer H7 (H7 | Monitors - Sharp visuals, progressive styling | Acer ) monitor to use as a external monitor for my laptop, and I would like to move the entire AE window to it. However when I do so, my actions become so sluggish that its unusable. Other software (like Premiere) seems to be fine when used on the monitor, so I'm not sure what the problem is. The preview monitor for AE will never play in real time on the ACER, but the same project will be fast on my laptop monitor.I have a Lenovo Thinkpad P70Windows 10 ProIntel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60 GhzSamsung 950 Pro SSD 256gbNVIDIA Quadro M3000M16gb DDR4 RAMThe laptop screen is 4k, and the ACER is 2560x1440I have tried connecting the monitor through USB-C, and HDMI. There is also a Display-Port connector but I haven't tried that. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks!
