After Effects CC 2018 closing on startup with no error message.

I can't launch After Effects from Creative Cloud, and when I launch it through a shortcut or another form, like the start menu, it just closes as soon as it fully opens. I have tried restarting my PC, and doing clean installs and nothing seems to work.

You may want to try resetting preferences During startup.

To restore default preference settings:

Press Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while the application is starting.
A dialog box launches asking you if you want to delete your preferences file. ...
To also restore default keyboard shortcuts, Option-click (Mac OS) the OK button.

I am running Windows 10 version 10.0.16299. I have a Ryzen 5 1600 and a GTX 1070, what other information do you need?

Edit: I have also tried After Effects CC 2017 and that crashes on startup as well so it is not just limited to 2018. They were both on their most recent patches.

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer's site.
