After Effects CC 2019 on Windows 2012 R2

We've been running After Effects on a Server running 2012 R2 for the last several years. It is our render engine.

Recently 2019 came out and it downloaded to the box but didn't install. After seeing that, we uninstalled After Effects on the system and re-installed and it installed CC2018 instead of 2019.

The system requirements say "Windows 10 or later" Operating System. 2012 R2 is sort of the Windows 10 equivalent.  Or do I need to get Windows Server 2016? Or, do I need to scrap the server and install Windows 10 on it? I'm not 100% sure how Windows 10 Pro would handle the hardware. It probably would be fine although installing on the box may pose a challenge.

What do you all know?
