After effects closing when importing files

Whenever I import a file into after effects it loads for a few seconds then closes, it doesn't say what happened or why and there is no crash report. I have uninstalled and reinstalled after effects with no luck.

I solved it sort of, I figured out something was wrong with the video when I tried out a different one. The file format for the one I was having trouble with was mp4, but when I put it through a mp4 converter it worked. So I guess it worked out.
