After Effects Constantly Crashing

Hello,

 

I've got a new PC, and After Effects is constantly crashing- particularly when I open up old projects.

 

It's not fit for purpose, and I'm constantly reimporting projects into new projects just to get going (before it crashes again).

 

I've tried purging unticking 'Hardware Accelerate composition'. Neither really have worked.

 

Basic specs are:

 

INTEL CORE i9 12900KS OEM

2 x 3090

64gb RAM

Windows 11

 

It's extremely unstable, and very worrying as I'm not sure what else I can do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Rob,

 

Sorry for the crash.

Do you see any error message or crash report? Do your old projects use any third-party plug-ins?

Please try resetting the preferences of After Effects and importing the project into a new one instead of opening them.
