After Effects Crashes on Startup

I used after effects once for a period of twenty minutes or so, then it crashed. When I tried to reopen it, it simply says that the program is not responding and closes. Other adobe programs like photoshop and premiere rush work just fine, so why is after effects broken?

Note: i have tried reinstalling (the issue continued) then i tried reinstalling but with an older version and the same thing happened
