After Effects crashing on startup

When i try to launch After Effects this message pops up.

After Effects

After Effects can’t continue: An unexpected error has occurred and After Effects will now shutdown.

Please check you have the appropriate permissions to launch After Effects as well as read/write access to the After Effects preferences folder.

If any other error messages were displayed prior to this, please review, and resolve if possible.

Would you try to open AfterFX.exe by Run as administrator (right-click option menu)?

Could you please give us system specifics?

Are you on a network and/or might there be permissions needed (like from an IT Dept.) to run the software/write to the drives?
