After Effects crashing which working on small files

I have recently updated to Sonoma mac os. I'm not sure if it's related but I can't get After Effects to work for longer than 5 minutes. It crashed when editing very small files AEP is 171kb.

 

Is this a known problem? Is there a fix due to be released?
