After Effects does not update until I scrub

Hello,

I'm working on a project and have noticed that After Effects is acting a little strange. If I move the position of a layer, and then hit command z to undo, the layer does not move until I scrub on the timeline. Is there something that I'm missing here? Super frustrating to not be able to see results until I scrub.

    Update -

    I managed to fix this but uninstalling After Effects and then re-installing.

    Yeah, I'm having this same problem on a Macbook Pro.

    Why, dear god, does "uninstalling" have to be the fix??

    Update -

    Here is a screen capture of what's going on. You will see that I just move the layer, hit command z to undo, but the layer does not move until I scrub the timeline.
