After Effects error: internal verification failure sorry!

Hi,

I am working in an After Effects project, which I have worked on previously. I had all my elements stored on my hard drive via dropbox, and moved them across to a hard drive and unsync the folder on dropbox (leaving a backup incase). However when I now go into the After Effects project and relink elements I get the following message

After Effects error: internal verification failure sorry! {You can only assign RGB profiles.} (39 :: 0)

and none of the files sync. I've checked the files and they open fine in Photoshop, I've also used the Dropbox folder and tried re-syncing that way. Also when I shut down the project I get the following message.

( 83 :: 2 )

After Effects error: String memory leak

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've tried just about everything I can think of.

Thanks.

    Same here! I'm trying to import the same files I did in the AE cc2017 but now it won't let me. I've been having an awful time with After Effects since I updated it to the 2018 version. Wish I hadn't.

    I have the same problem, CS6 with the latest updates. It happens with grayscale pngs. WTF?! Where is the fix?

    Sorry, but you realyl haven't told us anything useful here. We know nothing about the specifics of your files, your system, your version of AE, your composition. You need to be much more specific rather than running off with generic descriptions and warning messages bereft of their context.

    Apologies, the files that are not re-linking in the project are PSD, MOV and PNG files. Nothing appears untoward with them, as they open up fine in Photoshop or import into Avid without any problem.

    My version of AE is CC2018 (latest available download) and my system is Mac OS Sierra Version 10.12.6 (2.8Ghz Intel Core i7, 16gb Ram 1600MHz DDR3, Graphics cars NVidia GeForce GT 750M 2048MB Intel Iris Pro 1536MB).

    The files seem to import fine, if I do this without relinking/replacing them and just import, but this then means I need to go through the whole project and replace all the files individually.

    As I mentioned previously, I've worked in this project before (although on an older AE Version).

    Thanks for the help.
