Question

After Effects general stability and performance getting worse, to an unworkable degree...

forget about multi frame rendering (slower rendering a lot of the times if it actualy manages to render to the end without stalling), fortget about color accurate hardware acceleration (prores files flicker greenish), just opening a project in a freshly re-started After Effects and I get this warning trying to do a ram preview for a HD comp with a single layer quicktime clip, on quarter resolution. Are you kidding me?

After Effects v23 in combination with a Mac Studio Ultra is turning out to be ultra dissapointing...

This is a known issue with the latest versions of AE that started to appear in v22.4 and still persists in 23. Be assured that the devs are aware and a fix may be coming soon. I know it is frustrating, but for the tiem being turn off multiframe rendering and also hardware accelerated decoding in the preferences.

Yes, I know about the MFR and hardware acceleration issues (I also reported then in before), those options are off and have been off in my setup for a while now. Good to know these issues are being addressed, but without MFR and hardware acceleration I can still work. Like I wrote, forget about those issues.

Losing the ability for realtime playback however is unworkable. And getting memory warnings while there is clearly enough memory just feels like an insult. I know it's a bug, but it's a bit worrying the trajectory After Effects is on right now seems to go down with each update.
