So I was using After Effects and it just had four screens,

What do I do to fix this?

      In the row of icons at the bottom of the composition panel (just above timeline), set "4 views" to "1 view".

        You must be new. Please start here: Basic AE

        AE is complicated and there are lots of switches that you'll never find unless you take the time to study. Nobody can learn this program efficiently by just opening it up and clicking around in the UI.
