After Effects laggy

For some reason my after effect is laggy even after doing some tweaks. i have no idea why its laggy n play back is way too slow. project is quite small too with 3min clip recorded in 240fps.

system specs 16gb ram ryzen 7300 n 2060 super.

Welcome to the community. Could you let us know the codec, frame size, and format of the video you imported to After Effects? Please also confirm your CPU model. Is it a Ryzen 3700? Let us know if you only see this issue with this specific file.

Nvidia H.264. 1920x1080, mp4. 240fps.

but yea it is ryzen 7 3700.

its mostly with anything somestimes even the ui lags.

Thanks for sharing the details. Are you time remapping the source file in your composition? Could you confirm if you also see this issue in After Effects 23.6?

Have you got any 3D files in the prject (not necessarily in the comp)? I used to have terrible trouble saving if there was a C4D file - it's an old bug , but maybe it has reappeared?

Is your audio from the same video or are you adding it from a compressed file like an MP3?

Audio can mess up playback

Do you have the Libraries panel open?

The libraries panel maintains an internet connection (I think) which might be competing for your RAM.

Do you have any other programs in the background? A virus scanner checking the whole computer?
