After Effects locked up in rainbow spinning wheel after launching

Hi everyone,

 

I find AE is taking forever to be ready to use after launching. The program UI becomes available only after 2-5 minutes waiting for the rainbow wheel to stop spinning. Is this an issue with the update? I noticed another post similar which impied an update of Premier solved their issue. This has not been the case for me. I have AEJuice installed buy their developers said its an AE issue.

 

Anyone else experiencing this?

 

Please help.. very annoying if I have crashed and need to jump back in ASAP.
