After effects not previewing with space bar

I am working in After Effects and all of a sudden when I hit the space bar for preview, nothing happens. I have googled this, and *TRIED* to contact Adobe customer service with no success.

 

Working on a Mac Studio, Apple M1 Ultra with Ventura 13.4.1 OS. After Effects V 22 and 24.

Hi Niki,

 

Are you getting the same issue in both versions? Is it happening with a particular project or all of them? Can you test After Effects in Safe Mode and see if it works any better?
