After effects not working with my Adobe Illustrator file

Im trying to make a logo animation using the vegas effect by following this youtube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McASqbIan_8

Picture 1 are my files, I have a PNG file as a background and an illustrator file [my logo]

I am following the steps in the 2nd part of that video, got to the point in Picture 2..

Generating the Vegas effect has no effect on the logo, and I am following the steps in the video

You Should have some RGB Color to get the vegas effect work so vegas will not work on black color try to add some color to your logo
