After Effects Open Issue-Shows Render Qeue

Hello everyone,

When I am trying to open After Effects I get this screen. All Options are Greyed out. I spoke with Adobe Customer support and the told me that is Microsoft Issue because the program Opens correctly when I use another account. Anynone that has the same issue?

I was having this issue, then I realized that I was using Adobe After Effects Render Engine 2025 icon as a shortcut on a Mac dock

Then I switched to the Adobe After Effects 2025 icon, and it stopped.

Thanks for sharing this!

I have the same setup on my Mac and sometimes I accidentally open the render engine too. Glad you found the right setup for you.

Hi @Nele.Studio

Thanks for reporting this issue. It looks like After Effects is opening in Render Engine mode (see this HelpX page for details). This mode is enabled when launching After Effects from the "Adobe After Effects Render Engine" shortcut, by adding a "-re" argument when launching After Effects from the comand line, or by having a "ae_render_only_node.txt" file in the Documents folder. Can you check to ensure that none of these are happening?

Cheers,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team
