After Effects Playback Glitch

When i try adding an effect or add a png or even add some text, my whole project just starts glitching. This has never happened to me before.

    The usual standard steps apply: Update your system's graphics driver, check your hardware acceleration options, flush the caches. Anything more specific will require exact info about your system's capabilities and the relevant settings.
