After Effects plugins won't work

Hi,

I just recently upgraded my After Effects to 2024. I have 3rd party plugins integrated in my After Effects, but now when I open it it tells me to open with Rosetta or the plugins won't work. The open with Rosetta option isn't there, so how do I get my plugins to work?

I'm on a MacBook Air M2 2022 with 16GB RAM.

Unfortunately they dropped the ball again as it seems the Adobe creative space is catering to the Intel system and not so much Apple Silicon. I just encountered this right now using a UVPass plugin, it says it's installed but can't use unless in Rosetta which that option is not available for Apple Silicon.

@JHillPhD

Are you referring to ftUVPass Pro?  MFR and Apple Silicon compatibility were added on July 6, 2023.  Hopefully, you just need the update otherwise you'll want to keep After Effects 2023 running using Rosetta alongside After Effects 2024.

It was just the regular one when it was free but I did go aescripts to see if it was updated earlier and it is which is good and just pay the 50% because I already an older version so I get to keep 2024

So I downgraded my AE and now I got it working. But this pops up when I open other projects:

What does it mean and how do I fix it?

Does it happen with all the projects? Try creating a new project and importing your existing project in it.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi,

This doesn't happen with all of the projects, however I can't seem to pinpoint what is making it crash because it happens less than a minute after opening the project. It happens with some of my older project files that I've had on my computer for a while, but also new ones that I've recently downloaded.

I just tried importing the project that crashed in the image above into a new one. The error doesn't pop up but the application still crashes shortly after opening.
