After Effects Preference file on Network Drive [locked - duplicate thread]

I work at a large corporation which is highly dependent on external network drives where you are supposed to store a lot of your information. Somehow my version of After Effects has its preference folder set to an external drive which means that After Effects does not launch when I am not on the network.

I was hoping that I could change whatever setting that is to my local drive so that I could launch AE whether I am on the network or not.

I cannot find this file anywhere......

Does anyone have a clue where I can find this?  And then reset it to point to my local drive?

Yes, I can call my IT department but working at a large corporation means that can take a long time and get complicated.  I was hoping to solve it myself.

Thanks!

Your issue are not the AE prefs, your issue are group policies that point to remote user folders. I'm afraid you can't fix it without admin access to your machine to change those policy settings again.

I came up with this after you posted on the COW -- what if you copied the preferences folder or file to your machine from the network?  It's worth a shot.
