After effects preview not playing even if the preview is rendered

Hi I'm pretty new to after effects and I'm having a problem where if I play a video, the audio keeps playing but the video freezes at the starting frame until I pause the video and the preview directly shifts to the paused frame (I have attached the screen recording for reference). I have tried some methods which were on internet like purge and audio hardware settings but unfortunately nothing worked for me. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
