After Effects Preview not working

Hi all, I was working on a simple motion graphics project and suddenly my preview doesn't want to play anymore. Whenever I press space or click the play button the preview window goes to black for a split second and then goes back to the frame the time indicator is on.

I can scrub throught the comp with the time indicator no problem. but playing it back just does not work.

I already cleared the cache several times, deleted AE and installed the latest AE version (24.0)

My system specs are:

• RTX 2070 Super (Latest Nvidia studio drivers: 537.58)
• Ryzen 9 5900x
• 32 GB DDR 4 ram

I'm not sure if there are any other specs relevant for this problem.

I'd appreciate all the help, because I'm at a loss right now.
