After Effects RAM Preview WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE

I have a macbook pro from 2017, after effects was working beautifully up until now. It will not preview any video, and if I dare click the preview button, the entire program locks up and freezes. I cleared cache, nothing. Re installed the program, nothing. Tried different footage, nothing. I am at a loss, I would really like to finish my project.

Also, have you made sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date and in the list of After Effects supported graphics cards? If not it could cause all sorts of rendering issues.

Have you reset the preferences? How are you previewing? By hitting spacebar or by clicking the preview button in the previews panel? does the same issue happen with each?
