After Effects Render stops working, turns dark, and becomes unclickable

I’m experiencing an issue in After Effects where the render icon in the Render Queue stops working, turns dark, and becomes unclickable.

anyone can help what is happinign?

At least one render item needs to be enabled for the Render button to become active. Check out the screenshot.
