After Effects Spitting The Dummy 0::42

Hi, with my After Effects exam in 4 weeks I am trying to install AE but keep getting the 0::42 notification when trying to open it directly or via GMetriX (exam program).

I can open it through a project but I need to access it by opening AE itself or GMetriX. Below are system and software details along with images of the notifications


Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the crash, Jakob.

Just to confirm, are you able to open After Effects and use it when you open by double-clicking a project file? Please try running After Effects in Safe Mode. Also, do you see any crash reports?

Thanks for the update. I'll try safe mode again and yes it only works by X2 clicking and AE project file.
