Every time I launch After Effects(18.4.1), it stops at the splash screen.

(after initializing media core)

There are no logs generated.

I uninstalled all plugins and scripts, reset preferences, reinstalled Creative Cloud and aftereffects, tryed aftereffects 17.7, updated (and downgraded) nvidia driver. Still dont work.

But I found Creative Cloud app is disabled from windows startup programs, it launch.

Also After Effects 17.0 is OK.

Windows10 Home 19043.1165

Intel Core i7-8700

32GB RAM

GTX 1060

GeForce Game Ready Driver 471.96 (also tryed studio driver and 466.47)

Correct answer Uccho

It finally worked when I deactivated all adobe fonts.

It is OK Even when I reactivated some fonts.

Disabling windows defender had no effects.

I also reinstalled windows10 and creative cloud but it didn't work.

Thanks for your support.

Thanks for reporting back @Uccho ,

This is a diffcult one to pin down. In some instances, it's drivers, in other instances its Mediacore issues, then anti-virus.

I guess we'll add fonts to our list 😀

Glad you're sorted

Maybe some app in the background blocks the Media core, so try to check the firewall, antivirus...
another idea try to uninstall everything using the adobe clear https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html then install everything again

Hi @Uccho,

This problem generally emanates from Medicore issues as suggested by @nishu_kush , which you've confirmed is all good.

The other is anti-virus sfotware. If you are running an anti-virus software, try disabling it and launching Ae.

Let us know how you go.

Hi Uccho,

Sorry for the crash.

Did you go to the MediaCore folder and removed the plug-ins manually? If not, I'd suggest giving it a try. Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore and remove all the files and folders (except dummy.txt) temporarily and try to launch After Effects.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu
