After Effects stops responding when Character panel is open

Whenever I started using character panel or editing text, after effects starts not reponding or freezing. But without that panel it runs smooth.

Hi Huzefa Pithawala,

 

It is a known issue. Engineers are working on this. What's the version of After Effects you're using? Version 23.5 works better. Also, you can keep the Character panel closed because all the features of the Character panel are not available in the Properties panel.

I am Using After effects 2020, 17.5 version.
