After effects stops responding when I import fla files

I like polishing my animations to after effects, last year I was able to import a fla file to after effects no problem but now it keeps not responding and claims it fails. 

Is this a bug in the new 2020 ver? 

I'm struggling a lot with this. Also off topic sort of but

1. When I make movie clips in animate cc and then import to after effects, the movie clip doesn't play on loop or anything it just slides across the screen forcing me to make the loop move manually which is frustrating, is this just how after effects is? If not please give me a sullution thank you!
