After Effects User interface lags

I've used After Effects for motion graphics on numerous platforms, including Windows and the MacBook. I now have an MSI Katana GF66 12UE laptop with an Intel i7 processor running at the 12th generation, 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory, and an Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6 graphics card. There is no other latency from after-effects. I have no trouble viewing the preview, and the rendering is likewise fine. Even if I decide to save the file, only the User Interface is slow.
