After Effects v24.0.0 (build 55) and Cinema 4D install issue

Question

Apple M2 Ultra, 64 GB, Mac OS Ventura 13.6

Install through CC app to local HD

Installed After Effects twice now, letting the add-on Cinema 4D install. When opening AE, I see Cinema 4D in the menu, but when applying the effect I get a message that says Cinema 4D 2023 must be installed.

Why is AE not recognizing the C4D install?

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
