After Effects V25.1 will not open, stuck on splash screen

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8850H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz

80GB memory (upgraded that today), obviously not the issue

Uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times

I have the latest graphics drivers

Deleted Cache & Preferences (C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects)

It will just not open. I have V17 on my laptop, as nothing has worked since that version and I nede the latest version to work ASAP, for some digital signs i need to make, and I cannot open AE v25.1

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Correct answer rayk76223196

Upgraded to Windows 11

Opened After Effects

It had logged me out of Adobe

Signed into Adobe

Had to remove my laptop as a device and add it as a new one

Opened After Effect,s 3 times in row and have worked on a project just fine

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the support!

Here is the screen grab for all the good it will do. It crashes ar random places all the time. There are no 3rd party plugins installed and 'none' of the startup options work. Please do not give me scripted steps to take. I've been using Adobe prodicts for over 15 years and know my way around Windows and all the wonderful issues.

I mainly use Premier Pro. 3 years ago I upgraded to the latest versions of both. Big mistake. Nothing would open, even Dreamweaver! I downgraded and everything was fine. I'm stuck on Premier Pro 15 & After Effects 17 as it took me 2 days last time just to get back up and running with those versions! Something is seriously wrong with your software! I've got by with those versions for the past few years, but I need to move on now.

Now has come the time I need After Effect (latest version, to open a supplier's project) and it fails. I have managed to get in 3 times in 7 days.

Sometimes AE opens:

As a background process and nothing on screen!
As a white screen with the menu options, then a duplicate white screen with the menu options inside it.
As it should with the interface then just freezes
The last time I got in, I could not close it, as it froze

When i do manage to get in, its probably 30 minutes later and opening it 20+ times. Task manager looks like it's crashing at "dynamic link"

My laptop works with 'ALL' other software and has the latest video drivers to keep up with the "This Effect needs GPU acceleration" in PP.

Really at a loss and do not have days to spend again fixing Adobe issues 😞

I am here to help. Could you share a screenshot of the splash screen where it is stuck? Also, try the steps in the following article: https://adobe.ly/4358TiP

Let us know how it goes. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu
