After Effects warning: Error parsing properties list from memory

Hi. I'm getting this error with after effects CC 2015. Does anyone know how to fix this?

After Effects warning: Error parsing properties list from memory

It happens every time I try to open up a new window from the window tab on the menu bar. It also seems to be effecting the layer order. The layers don't match to what I'm seeing in the Comp.

I've deleted all the cache and that hasn't worked so if you know any quick fix for this it would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

To get rid of this error:

1) Open Run application and type '%appdata%'

2) Then Goto Adobe> After Effects > 9.0> Delete AIFEffectCache

DONE!!!

If this doesn't work, delete the 9.0 folder.

I have the solution, it is about the RAM memory of your computer.

After Effects is configured to use 5 gb. You have to change it with this button>manage sync settings>memory in RAM reserved change ir to 6 or the RAM you want.

In After Effects 2017 CC I still have the same problem.
I can't confirm that RAM has anything to do with it. My machine has 32GB RAM, 25GB reserved for After Effects. I run no other applications when it occurs. It happens with the Character Panel. I can get it back by switching to 'All Panels', but if I switch back to my carefully crafted, multi-screen workplace it's gone again, replaced by the ominous "Error parsing properties list from memory".
I had this issue coming and going on several machines for several years using both NVIDIA and ATI cards.
It's a bit annoying and disappointing that this doesn't seem to get fixed.

Had the same problem, was able to work around it by creating a new project and just dragging the project file into that.

Not the most efficient way to do it, but got me into the project.

yes sksu.creative solved my problem!

As he suggested, I've opened Ae and clicked on workspaces > all panels.

Once i did this, even if I've reorganized all panels the way i like, I havent got any other error message.

Infact, now, if I open Ae and try to open a closed panel everything works fine.

On the other hand, I got no saved workspace as fksu.creative has, so i cant say anything about it.

Thanks a lot fksu.creative!

I was having the same problem and switched the workspace option to all. The software installed with 'undocked' checked instead of 'all.'  Weird.

It happened again. It seems to default to 'undocked.'

Hello, I've the same problem here.

This happen with new files or old ones. I tried restarting, reinstalling, updating....

Everything seems to work properly but i cannot open any other panel then the ones already open from the start.

One more thing: this program was working correctly on my

MacBook Pro (late 2010) / i7 / 8bg ram  / NVIDEA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB

Im running El Capitan 10.11.2

before resetting everything (and installing an SSD).

I also tried this:

if i close one of the panel that i found open when the Ae starts (ie: effects) and i try to reopen it, i got NO error message.

Can anyone help please?

tnx in advance.
