Question

After Effects won't even open anymore

Hello all — I've tried installing/uninstalling new/old versions of AE into my desktop, and now it's gotten to the point it will not open anymore. I have cleaned out the caches, updated my OS. Can't seem to know if Adobe Cleaner took care of the problem. So, yes. I'm stuck in a rut.

As experts mentioned, we'd need more details to troubleshoot the issue properly.

  • What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS)?
  • What happens when you try to launch After Effects? Do you see any error message or crash report?

What changed? This can happen with an OS update, an AE update, an anti-virus update, a permissions change? Without system details and some kind of timeline for the failure, the problem could have been caused by anything from hardware failure to a 3rd party app update.
