Question

After Effects won't open (all versions; all up to date)

After Effects 17.5.1 which I have used consistently (nearly every day) will no longer open. Icon bounces, then stops - no splash screen. I also have 22.2.1 and 16.1.3 available, but the same thing happens with those. (Occasionally 22.2.1 will show the splash screen but freezes there.) No idea how to get help or what more info to give, but if anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

A little update: Have tried connecting with two Adobe help reps but no luck so far. Since they both asked this, will add this part: am on Mac, OS Catalina 10.15.7, intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphics card

further update: Have uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects (at the direction of another Adobe help rep) - still no change...

Sorry for your issue.

Have you installed a new program or a new font recently? Made any changes in the security - installed anti-virus or any changes in the firewall? If so, try reverting those changes and see if that fixes the issue. If it doesn't try resetting the preferences of After Effects (reinstalling doesn't reset the preferences until you choose).
