After Effects won't quit.

I've recently updated to AE 22.3.0 and it hangs up [spinning beachball] when I quit the program, requiring a force quit.

I've trashed my prefs, and reinstalled AE, but it persists. I've also installed the latest OS update, but it did not solve it.

Initially saw the following message, but not every time:

After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking plug-in "scripting"

Any insight is appreciated.

Specs below.

2019 iMac

Monterey v12.3.1

3.7 Ghz 6-Core Intel Core i5

64GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB

Hi thoughtbubble,

Sorry for your issue.

Are there any third-party plug-ins or scripts installed? If so, please try removing them temporarily and see if it helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu

Thanks Nishu,

I removed all the files from Scripts folder to a desktop folder and relaunched AE. It was able to quit with no issues.

There was no need to repeat the process many times in order to whittle down the issue, because after copying all the files back where they belong, After Effects is now able to quit properly. Hopefully this did the trick.

Thank you for your insight and help!
