Since updating to AFX 26.2.1 I would get the message “File is damaged and can´t be opened”. I had to re-install the 2025 Version which still worked. But now I am getting the same message with this Version that still worked the other day. I already uninstalled and reinstalled it serveral time and deleted the preferences. still no luck. any ideas?

Running a Mac Book Pro M3 with Sequoia

Thanks! Daniel

Hi Nisha, thank you for your answer. I couldn´t open it either way, but could finally solve the problem by manually deleting all of the “old” AfterEffects preference files and re-installing it. So for now: problem solved :)

    Hi Daniel,

Sorry to hear about the issue. How are you trying to open After Effects? Are you double-clicking a project file or clicking its icon? Can you try launching After Effects from the Creative Cloud desktop app? Can you try running After Effects in Safe Mode with third-party plug-ins disabled?

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Nishu
