Question

AFTER FFECTS USING ALL AVAILABLE MEMORY, AND CRASHING.

I can't stand having to see my After Effects crashing.

Whether with a large project, or a MINIMALLY SMALL one, it is always using almost 100%
of my ram. The only plugin I use along with the program is Animation Composer, but
even without using it, it still crashes.
I really wish they released a new program for motion, maybe that way I could get out of this rot. Automatically translated by Google Translate.

my settings:

Ryzen 5600X
RTX 3060 OC 12GB
32GB 2933Mhz
SSD M.2 250GB
B450M Aorus Elite

Same exact thing on my end. Working with a Ryzen 5800H + RTX 3070 + 32GB RAM and with 23.2.1, have been having horrendous memory issues (crashing the GPU completely and throwing my whole machine into a fit) regularly, with particularly simple files (not more than a few text layers, masks, and PNGs sliding around.)

Hi fluxophile,

Sorry to hear that. Are there any third-party plug-ins installed? What's the version of the GPU driver you're using?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Nishu

I've got the same thing happening on my end and no third party software installed.

Hi Arthhficio,

Sorry for the issue.

What are the composition settings? Do you mind sharing a screenshot? What's the resolution of the media files you're using? Also, have you applied any effects? Try changing the composition resolution to Half or Third.

Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
