Question

AfterEffects on a Dell XPS 15 (latest; Intel i7, 32GB Ram)

Hey guys,

I had to make the transfer to Win due to couple 4K-video-jobs. I decided to get a stacked Dell XPS15 with lots of RAM and everything.

Sor some reason I can't really get After Effects running properly. It's just damn slow in response and even moving windows or toolbars seems like an overwhelming job for this machine. I've filmed it, maybe you get an idea. My question:

Is my graphics card (GeForce 4GB) broken? Is it a system-preference I need to set up first? Is it just windows?

Thank for any help!!!

(yes I put all available RAM into AE in the Preferences)

Why did you do that?  It's a good idea to reserve 25% of your RAM for other applications.

I presume you like it when the Operating System can run.

Usually people would tell me to put more RAM into AE, but this is not the problem at all. I got loads of RAM, so this is not the issue anyways. The Operating system still hast 6GB RAM left and works smooth. It's only AE which runs slow —, even in empty projects...
