alt/option key changes in 17.5

Hi,

I recently updated to AE 17.5 and have noticed that, when in 3D mode the alt/option key is now assigned to the camera orbit tool in every context - i.e. whatever tool is selected it still swtiches to camera orbit tool). Much like how the space bar becomes the hand tool but stops when space bar is released.

I've jumped into the keyboard shortcuts to try and disable/change it but can't figure out how to change a top level function like that. It seems to be outside all of the tools/menus.

Is there a way to disable this - or at least have it set to become the orbit tool only when the selection tool is activated?

I tend to use the alt/option key a lot when editing shape paths with the pen tool and I can't find a substitute for that in the update.

Cheers,

Will

Hi Will,

Thanks for reaching out.

The Alt/Option key works in combination with the Right, Left, and Middle mouse button to orbit, zoom in zoom out, and pan the camera. You can disable it from After Effects preferences > 3D > uncheck "Active Alt - Left / Middle / Right Mouse Click For Camera Navigation" if you'd like.

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Nishu
